Toyota's upscale nameplate goes on a supercar frenzy with the LFA that costs nearly twice as much as Merc's modern-day Gullwing.
BMW X1
Price:
Specs: 177hp 2.0-litre inline-four turbo-diesel; six-speed automatic.
- The X1 becomes BMW's new SUV baby nearly as large as the X3, which moves upmarket in all-new form later this year. The X1 is being sold as a fully built-up import, unlike the Thai-made X3.
Kia Soul
Price:
Specs: 124hp 1.6-litre inline-four petrol; four-speed automatic.
- Kia's B-segment MPV-cum-hatchback is arriving on Thai shores as a completely built-up import for those who need a funky-looking package that is half as cheap as the similarly-performing Mini Cooper.
Hyundai Tucson
Price:
Specs: 116hp 2.0-litre inline-four petrol; six-speed automatic.
- The Tucson is imported from Korea in full-spec form as a stylish alternative for SUV punters who don't mind its marginally higher prices than those of the Honda CR-V. The Tucson comes in either 2WD or 4WD.
Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG

Specs: 571hp 6.3-litre V8; seven-speed dual-clutch automatic.
- The ``Gullwing'' is now back in a modern iteration featuring the fabled roof-hinged doors. The SLS takes 3.8sec from 0-100kph _ 0.1sec slower than the LFA _ but is half as cheap as its Japanese rival.
Volvo C30
Price:
Specs: 145hp 2.0-litre inline-four petrol; six-speed twin-clutch automatic.
- The C30 compact hatchback gets its mandatory facelift and a smaller engine and quicker-shifting transmission. There are two trims to choose from, as well as two styling themes under the R Design concept.
Lexus LFA
Price:
Specs: 560hp 4.8-litre V10 petrol; six-speed automated manual.
- Lexus's flagship supercar is the most expensive and fastest-accelerating car being launched officially at this year's Bangkok Motor Show. Only two of 500 to be made globally is slated for Thailand, although an order for another one has also been placed in the grey market here. There will be personalisation schemes for buyers.
