Life Spa@Village: Let The Tension Drift Away | ||||
UPDATE : 30 April 2010 | ||||
During my recent visit to Springfield Village Golf & Spa, a luxury resort located between the coastal towns of Cha-Am and Hua Hin, I discovered that the property also boasts a lovely spa called Life Spa@Village, which provides a truly relaxing experience in a peaceful setting. The spa, which resembles a two-story, pavilion-style building, is located on a small hill at one corner of the property. There are five treatment rooms on the first floor and areas dedicated to Thai massage on the second floor. The second floor also affords some pleasant views of the property's impressive 27-hole golf course and surrounding mountains. In fact, on a nice clear day, you can even see the Gulf of Thailand from here. A highly-qualified team Korapat Sirikanjanaphat, the spa manager, told me that all the therapists employed at the spa have at least three years' experience and are fully certified by Thailand's ministry of public health. She said that new therapists also undergo further training in order to be sufficiently qualified to deliver treatments to Life Spa's high standards. I got to try a one-hour Swedish massage program during my recent visit to the spa, which is apparently one of the most popular treatments among guests. The session began with a relaxing and thorough foot-cleansing procedure, which uses liquid soap and water mixed with Thai herbs. The therapist, who has seven years' experience, began the massage session with a back rub, which is aimed at both relaxing the muscles and stimulating blood circulation. The focus of the massage then moved towards the lower half of the body until the therapist suggested I turn over and lie on my back. The therapist then continued, massaging my shoulders and arms. As the therapist applied just the right level of pressure and seemed to execute the massage perfectly, I felt sure that the program had improved my circulation. I certainly felt totally rejuvenated by the end of it. Life Spa@Village uses both imported and locally-sourced spa products. For the facial treatment, the spa uses products from well-known brands, such as Dermalogica and La Roche-Posay. The spa also uses Kalasai products, produced by a One Tambon, One Product (OTOP) group in the neighboring province of Prachuap Khiri Khan, in many of its body treatment programs. The spa is currently busy establishing its own herb nursery, which will ensure that it always has access to fresh herbs for the benefit of its customers. Korapat revealed that the spa also produces some of its own creams, such as Banana Body Scrub, based on suggestions provided by Dr Suchitra Naphaporn, an expert on anti-aging medicine and spas, who helps to manage and develop Life Spa's various treatment programs.
Life Spa@Village opens daily from 9 am to 7 pm, but the busiest period tends to be between 2-5 pm. Please note that reservations should be made before 6 pm. For further information, or to make a reservation contact Life Spa on Tel: +66 (0)3 270 9222 (press 7). You can enjoy a similar spa experiece at Life Spa@Sea, which is located at Springfield@Sea alongside the beach at Cha-am. Photos used with this story courtesy of the Springfield Group. Watch out for signs for the Cha-am-Pranburi bypass (Route 1010) and take this road until it joins Route 7036. Turn right when you reach the next intersection and follow the road for another four kilometers. You'll then see Springfield Resort & Spa on your right. POI: N. 12.70854, E 99.86031 |
