This week we'll take a look at several movies set to be released in the kingdom over the coming weeks: the highly topical Valentine's Day, which features a truly all-star cast, Hachi, The Book of Eli and Up in the Air.

Valentine's Day
Directed by Garry Marshall (Pretty Woman), Valentine's Day is a romantic comedy that features one of the largest all-star ensemble casts in cinematic history.

The plot takes place over the course of one Valentine's Day with the cast dealing with casually intertwining stories relating to romance throughout the movie.

And when we say 'all star ensemble', we really do mean all star!

Ashton Kutcher plays Reed Bennet (the owner of a florists), while Jessica Alba plays his girlfriend Morely Clarkson.

Bradley Cooper plays Holden Bristow (a gay man whose lover is a closeted football player), while Julia Roberts plays Kate Bristow (an army officer).

Other household names from the world of music and entertainment featured in the movie include Taylor Lautner (Tyler Harrington), Taylor Swift (Samantha Kenny) and Queen Latifah, who plays Erin Patusi.

Jessica Biel plays the role of Kara Monahan, a publicist who is alone without a date on Valentine’s Day, while the movie even features Oscar winner Kathy Bates in an uncredited role. - Opens February 11.

Hachi (Hachiko): A Dog's Story
This heartwarming true story is an American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a loyal dog named Hachiko.

This very special friend would accompany his master (Richard Gere) to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sadly his master departs one day, passes away and never returns to the station.

Hachiko faithfully returns to the same spot at the station the very next day, and every day for the next nine years to await his beloved master. During his daily visits, Hachiko touches the lives of many folks who work nearby and commute via the town square. He teaches the local people love, compassion and above all unyielding loyalty.

Today, a bronze statue of Hachiko sits in his waiting spot outside the Shibuya station in Japan as a permanent reminder of his devotion and love. - Opens February 11.

The Book of Eli
Set in a post-apocalyptic America, where the countryside has become nothing more than a desolate, violence-ridden wasteland, Eli (Denzel Washington) fights to protect a sacred tome that could hold the key to survival of the human race in a futuristic thriller from Albert and Allen Hughes (From Hell and Dead Presidents).

Gary Oldman is yet again cast in the role of a dark criminal type (Carnegie) while Mila Kunis portrays his daughter, Solara. - Opens February 25.

Up in the Air
Ryan Bingham (George Clooney) is a corporate downsizing expert whose cherished life on the road is threatened just as he is on the cusp of reaching 10 million frequent flyer miles and just after he's met Alex (Vera Farmiga), the frequent-traveler woman of his dreams. - Opens February 25.
